"As the inventor of the breathable, synthetic, fabric hood brace, it's ironic I no longer have time to make my own. Instead, I now buy my "brace strips" (which I finish and install on my own hoods) from Lymeston Canyon Leatherworks. The construction of Lymestone Canyon brace strips is done correctly and made with durable materials. The finished braces 'stand at attention' as they should, are weather proof, and are nice and slim for easy installation. The brace fabric slides smoothly to open or shut, but has the correct amount of 'tooth' to prevent unwanted back-sliding (loosening). Thanks, Brian and Natasha, for providing this valuable service to falconers and hoodmakers and sparing us all the time!"

Dear Natasha and Brian
I have a cabinet of about 120 ill-fitting hoods which I have purchased over the years.
Some are beautiful, most are nice, made with care and skill - they come from hood-makers in all corners of the world - Japan, Spain, America, Balearic Islands, England, Italy. Extraordinarily, considering all the currency expended on amassing the collection very few have I been able to use. The few that did fit sometimes make it back to the cabinet as old wrecks after a decade or so of work in the field.
I never send them back, I just keep them in the cabinet and wait until a bird comes along that fits the hood.
But you know what? They never seem to. A hood which does not fit your bird never seems to fit anything else either. Maybe just my bad luck.
However ……. Your hoods arrived yesterday , a peregrine falcon hood and a peregrine tiercel hood.
These are the best fitting hoods I have bought in about 40 years. Thank you.
